This Boy . . .

This boy melts my heart in so many ways. I love so many things about him.
I love that wicked look of mischief in his eyes.
I love the way he smiles at me when I tell him I love him.
I love the way he wants to play Sequence for Kids twenty-four hours a day.
I love the way that he says, "Get that JUNK out of here!" when he gets a dragon card and removes one of my chips in Sequence for Kids.

I love the way he eats sweets like he can never have enough.
I love the way he grinds his teeth when he wants to hit someone but he knows he shouldn't.
I love the way he can read books in his room for an hour with perfect equanimity.
I love the way he says, "I was just born this way, right?" when I ask him how he got to be so cute.

The bad news?
It's time to start potty training. I hope my love can endure.

Happy Valentine's Day, everybody!

I am covering my eyes and singing "la-la-la-I-didn't-read-that!"

I don't even want to THINK about potty training.

He is adorable. Potty training is a yucky thing but someone's gotta do it right?? I think my kid is gonna recieve the longest potty training ever award. She turned three in January and has been training off and on (I start, three months later give up, three months later start again) since she was 26 months. Still holding on to her pull-ups. I know better than to put her in panties in public. I never thought holding this precious newborn I would be pulling my hair out a short while later. *Ugh!* Good Luck with your endeavor!

mmmm... Tips are welcome, welcome. We are thinking about starting that journey since the little booger is going to be two and we figure that he needs to be trained by three. :) We'd love to get rid of the diapers for him so that we only have one kid in diapers. I read that before the advent of disposable diapers kids were trained by two all the time. Later potty training is supposedly really just a ploy by the diaper companies...

He sure is cute! Hope he stays that way through the whole process. :)

Oh, I hate potty-training! Boys are absolutely the worst....just you wait! Technically, in a way, we still are potty-training at our house. My little guy still can't make it through the entire night being dry and he still has slip-ups during the day. Frustrating beyond belief.

Now come on you know you don't wanna do that really. JUst put it to the back of your mind and eat a giant bar of chocolate instead, you know it makes sense.

What's with the arm tattoo's by the way? You trying to prepare him for life on the Monsell?

all i have to say is...."toilet training in less than a day" method is awesome. My little boy did it in one weekend. It was great. I also must give this crucial advice: Have your husband do the potty training. Seriously, not just to get out of it, (though that is a perk)...but I think it is nice to have someone else boss them around (besides mom, who does it all the live long day). Good luck, you will still love your little man, even when your floor is covered with a yellow film.

Wo! He's looking a lot like Ivy these days. I almost thought that she had an accident with the scissors.

That cannot be Spencer!! He is way too big, and soooo cute! I think he looks like Ivy a bit too. He was just a baby when I saw him last and now potty training?!?! Crazy! Good luck.

P.S. It's not so bad. The trick for Cole was motivation (aka bribes) :)
