Some Vast Eternal Plan

Do you remember that part in Fiddler on the Roof where Tevye wonders why he can't be rich. He asks, "Would it spoil some vast eternal plan if I were a wealthy man?"

I don't worry about being wealthy, but seriously, would it hurt some vast eternal plan if Spe slept in past 7:00 a.m.? Just once?

Apparently the vast eternal plan I'm talking about is the one where I'm supposed to remain tired and grumpy for the rest of my life. Meh.

Apparently we share a plan. I'm pretty sure I'm never destined to feel well-rested again, as payback for the first part of my life when I was a lazy ass.
(I'm still a lazy ass. I'd just rather be a well-rested, lazy ass).

Also, I have an award for you. Clicky

I'm sure if you got rest, some part of The Plan would totally get messed up. So be thankful that you're saving the world!

I just watched Fiddler last week.......what a great movie! I, myself, have been wondering if it would spoil some vast eternal plan if I were to get hip hop abs and a slimming tan.

Boy, we are all so similar! I am sure all things in heaven and earth go heywire when my youngest sister gets some where or leaves on time! I believe the last proof of that was Katrina!

It'll happen soon. Sooner than you think.
In the meantime, you might want to think about what's causing her to wake up so frequently - maybe there's an easy solution right now? Maybe.

SORRY!!! i have no words of comfort. i have been there and i hated it. i am so happy my kids are getting older (11 and 7) ...sleeping all night, pretty self-sufficient... it's so funny when people say "enjoy these baby days because they go by so fast." i wanted to scream "NO they don't actually. they DRAG by like slow painful torture"
being awakened at 3am by a spine-chilling SCREECH was my all time fave.

I got all my kids grown- they can set their alarm, feed themselves, and drive themselves to school. Then I got called to teach early morning seminary.
Oh, well . . . I suppose we can sleep when we're dead.

Part of the eternal plan is to allow the kids to stay over at grandparent's houses. I'm trying to introduce the kids to this master plan...

I haven't had more than three consecutive hours of sleep in three days. He goes right back to sleep, but the interruptions. Oh, the interruptions. Best of luck. I feel your pain.

Maybe Spe isn't my favourite any more. I feel totally hard done to if I have to get up before 8.

Yes, I am still lazy. Even as a parent.
