When we'd get back from a car trip when I was a kid, my mom would say, "Home again, home again, jiggity jig." Your post title reminded me of that...
My mom ALWAYS said "home again, home again, jiggity jog." I wonder where all of our parents picked that up?
You guys! It's from that old rhyme:
To market, to market
to buy a fat pig.
Home again, home again
Jiggity Jig.
And then you do it again with hog, hence the jiggity JOG.
Wow, I had no idea that the saying could be for real. I'll have to ask my mom about it and see if she remembers the rhyme herself. Thanks for the English lesson Heidi.
